Wissembourg Watercolour Biennale 2026: a must-see artistic event in Alsace

From 6 to 14 June 2026, the town of Wissembourg will host the first edition of the Watercolour Biennale, an event dedicated to lovers of art, watercolour painting and contemporary creation. Organised by the Alsaquarelle association, this event will showcase more than 50 international and local artists in an exceptional setting in the heart of Northern Alsace.

A unique watercolour exhibition in Alsace

The Wissembourg Watercolour Biennial is already establishing itself as a major cultural event in Alsace. For nine days, art lovers, curious visitors and artists alike will be able to discover original works by talented watercolourists from a variety of backgrounds.

The exhibitions will be open daily from 10am to 7pm at the Salle Louise Weiss and the Grange aux Dîmes. Admission is completely free, allowing everyone to enjoy this artistic world rich in colour and emotion.

Courses and workshops for all levels

In addition to the exhibitions, the Biennale will also offer courses, workshops and demonstrations led by professional artists. Beginners and experienced watercolourists alike will be able to refine their technique and develop their creativity in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere.

The Alsaquarelle association hopes to share its passion for watercolour and make this art form accessible to as many people as possible. These events will also provide an opportunity to exchange ideas with other enthusiasts and discover different artistic approaches.

A prestigious guest of honour: Théo Sauer

This first edition will showcase the artist Théo Sauer, the Biennale’s guest of honour. His presence will add an extra artistic dimension to this event, which is already eagerly anticipated by watercolour enthusiasts.
